The Institute of Molecular Sciences of Marseille has an internal shared analysis facility, jointly used by the three Chemistry and Biology teams. It is dedicated to the purification, separation, and identification of organic, bio-organic, and supramolecular molecules, as well as the measurement of molecular interactions.
The facility provides a full range of analyses using the following instruments:
- Low-resolution mass spectrometry (ESI – electrospray ionization) Expression L-CMS spectrometer – Advion
- Chromatography (HPLC), UV-Visible detection (PDA, 4 wavelengths) – LaChrom Elite, Hitachi
- Size-exclusion chromatography (UV-Visible LaboACE LC-5060 Plus II) – (recycling preparative HPLC) – Japan Analytical Industry
- GC/MS coupling (FID/EI mass spectrometry) – Agilent
- Microcalorimetry (MicroCal ITC) – Malvern Panalytical
All operating equipment has been brought together in a single analysis laboratory within Service 452. They provide a routine analysis platform for users. The service is managed by two engineers.
Please contact Sabine Chevallier and Alexis Tacussel for any further information.
All requests must first be discussed with an engineer to define the needs. It is also possible to use the equipment independently after prior training.
