The Institute of Molecular Sciences of Marseille has an internal shared analysis service among the 3 chemistry and biology teams, dedicated to the purification, separation, and identification of organic, bio-organic, or supramolecular molecules, as well as molecular interaction measurements.
The service performs all analyses that can be conducted using:
- Low-resolution mass spectrometry (ESI - electrospray ionization) Expression L-CMS spectrometer - Advion
- Chromatography (HPLC), UV-Visible detection (PDA, 4 wavelengths) – LaChrom Elite, Hitachi
- Size-exclusion chromatography (UV-Visible LaboACE LC-5060 Plus II) – (preparative recycling HPLC) – Japan Analytical Industry
- GC/MS coupling (FID/EI mass spectrometry) – Agilent
- Microcalorimetry (MicroCal ITC) – Malvern Panalytical
The operational equipment has been grouped into a single analysis laboratory within service 452; they will provide routine analysis capabilities for users. The management of the service has been entrusted to two engineers.
Contact Virginie Héran and Sabine Chevallier for any inquiries.
All requests must first be made to an engineer to define the needs. It is also possible to use the equipment independently after prior training.
