iSm2 greenhouse gas balance

The greenhouse gas emissions balance calculation is performed using GES 1point5, a tool from Labos 1point5 to estimate the carbon footprint. It has been calculated on a calendar year basis using collected data on building energy consumption and business travel. The calculation of emissions from the purchase of goods and services is carried out using monetary emission factors constructed from three existing databases: the ADEME carbon database, the American environmental data archive CEDA, and the American Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) archive. Each purchase is identified by a NACRES code (Research, Teaching, and Higher Education Procurement Nomenclature) in the form of two letters followed by two digits. To calculate emissions, the pre-tax purchase amount must be considered and multiplied by the emission factor of the NACRES code.
