The Institut des Sciences Moléculaires de Marseille is actively seeking candidates to join its teams for the 2026 CNRS Junior Professor Chair competition. Research proposals should align with the institute’s interdisciplinary focus at the interface of chemistry and biology, with submissions expected during the summer.
Current research themes within the institute include:
-
(bio)catalysis
-
supra-molecular chemistry
-
bio-inspired catalysts and metabolic pathway design
-
artificial enzymes
-
hybrid systems (chemo/photo/bio).
Expected projects should focus on innovative approaches in biocatalysis for applications such as (and not limited to):
-
synthesis of chemical goods
-
biomass or by-product valorization
-
degradation of recalcitrants
-
energy or environnement applications
and integrate multidisciplinary approaches in chemistry, biochemistry, or biology, whether through:
-
experimental work (utilizing the lab’s facilities and platforms, as well as Marseille’s large-scale research infrastructures),
-
modeling/simulation
-
AI-driven prediction.
