This research program funded by the ANR, relies on synthetic innovation and is driven by the importance of step economy towards the construction of molecular diversity – both for advancing synthesis and providing semi-conducting polymers (relevant compounds for new material industry). We suggest adding the expertise of both partners to develop a new approach to benzocyclobutene moieties and, to use those benzocyclobutenes in a controlled polymerization process to deliver a well-defined pi-conjugated system offering semi-conducting properties.
